To ensure one-person-one-vote integrity and prevent any individual or group from gaining disproportionate influence by creating multiple memberships. Your ID number is immediately converted to a one-way cryptographic hash on submission — only the hash is stored. The original number cannot be recovered from it, and our staff never see it.
Yes, absolutely. The Suva Harbour Foundation welcomes members from around the world. All membership classes are open to non-Fiji residents. Supporting Members outside Fiji can vote at General Meetings held online. Fiji-registered organisations may apply for Organisational Partner status.
After your application is reviewed and approved, you will receive a payment instruction by email. We currently accept bank transfer to our BSP Fiji account. International supporters may pay via international bank transfer or an agreed equivalent. We are working to add online card payment for convenience.
Any Supporting Member, Organisational Partner delegate, or Founding Patron delegate is eligible to stand for election to the Board after completing one full year of membership in good standing. Nominations must be submitted in writing to the Secretary at least 21 days before the AGM. The full election process is described in Part IV of the Constitution.
On cancellation or non-renewal, your personal data is deleted from our active systems within 90 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g. financial records must be kept for 7 years under Fiji law). Identity hashes are retained to prevent re-admission gaming only for as long as legally required. You may request deletion at any time by emailing governance@suvaharbour.org.
Tax deductibility depends on your country of residence and the applicable local laws. SHF is a registered non-profit in Fiji. For Fiji-based members, please contact the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service (FRCS) or your accountant. We can provide official receipts for all membership fees and donations upon request.
